Recognizing heavy metal pollution - pectin as an alternative to gadolinium?

Gadolinium is a rare earth metal that has attracted a lot of attention in recent years, especially since its compounds are used as contrast agents in magnetic resonance imaging. Contrast agents containing gadolinium are used because they accumulate in highly perfused tissues such as tumors and provide high-contrast images. Recently, however, associations have warned of certain gadolinium contrast agents. Residues of the metal could be detected in the brain tissue in patients who had received four or more MRIs. The professional association of German nuclear medicine physicians advises accordingly that Gd-containing contrast media should only be used for unavoidable examinations. Are there stress-free alternatives to gadolinium-containing contrast media?
